World Snooker Championship Opens With John Virgo Tribute and Nervous Zhao Xintong Start
The World Snooker Championship began at the Crucible in Sheffield with a minute's applause in memory of John Virgo, the former UK champion and beloved broadcaster who died in February aged 79. Defending champion Zhao Xintong made a nervy start to his title defence in the opening rounds.
