Tim Cook to Step Down as Apple CEO, John Ternus Named Successor Effective September 1
Apple announced that CEO Tim Cook will step down after 15 years, transitioning to executive chairman of the board. John Ternus, currently senior VP of hardware engineering, will become Apple's next CEO effective September 1, 2026.
