Australia and Japan deepen strategic partnership on defence, energy and critical minerals
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Japanese counterpart Sanae Takaichi signed agreements to elevate the 'special strategic partnership' between the two nations. The deals cover defence cooperation, energy trade security and the development of critical mineral supply chains. Officials said the framework will make both countries less vulnerable to global shocks.
