US Republicans warn German troop cuts undermine Russia deterrence
The chairs of the House and Senate Armed Services committees said that withdrawing 5,000 troops from Germany sends the wrong signal to Moscow and could weaken NATO’s deterrence posture. They criticized Berlin’s decision as risky for European security.
