US expands military footprint against Iran with third carrier and Indo-Pacific pursuit
The USS Gerald Ford, the world's largest aircraft carrier, re-entered Middle East waters as a third US carrier deployment in the region, according to US defense officials cited by the Associated Press. The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff also told CNN that US forces will pursue Iran-linked ships well beyond the Middle East, extending operations into the Indo-Pacific region.
