TVK makes gains but falls short in Tamil Nadu by‑polls, losing Tenkasi and Kanniyakumari

The party’s win in Pennagaram came at the expense of the PMK, which retained its overall foothold in Dharmapuri but lost its traditional bastion. Meanwhile, traditional regional parties held their ground in Kanniyakumari despite the TVK challenge.
