Since the end of the Syrian war last year, more than half a million of Turkey's estimated 3.6 million Syrian refugees are believed to have returned home. Their departure is creating acute labour shortages in low-wage sectors such as textiles and agriculture, with the southern city of Gaziantep alone seeing half of its garment workshops close in the past year.
