Scientists Identify 27 New Possible Circumbinary Planets, Doubling Known Count
Astronomers announced the discovery of 27 new candidate planets that orbit two stars, a class known as circumbinary planets. The find more than doubles the roughly 18 such worlds previously confirmed. Researchers highlighted the similarity to the fictional planet Tatooine from Star Wars.
