Grinex, a US-sanctioned cryptocurrency exchange based in Kyrgyzstan, is halting operations after a cyberattack it attributes to 'western special services.' Grinex initially reported $13 million stolen, but blockchain research firm TRM, after identifying roughly 70 drained addresses, puts the figure at $15 million — neither TRM nor Elliptic has disclosed how attackers breached the exchange's defenses.
