Russia's Aviation Regulator Seeks Ban on Power Banks Aboard Flights
Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency has requested the Transport Ministry prohibit the use of power banks on aircraft. The move follows a February 2026 incident on a Ural Airlines flight from Yekaterinburg to Istanbul in which a power bank caught fire mid-flight, though crew extinguished the blaze and the flight continued.
