Richard Desmond Loses £1.3bn Lawsuit Over National Lottery Contract
Media tycoon Richard Desmond has lost his legal claim for up to £1.3bn in damages against the Gambling Commission over the award of the National Lottery franchise to Allwyn. His company Northern & Shell argued the regulator had favoured Allwyn in the selection process. Both the Financial Times and The Guardian report Desmond has vowed to appeal the ruling.
