Kerala Assembly Election 2026: UDF Sweeps Wayanad, Congress Wins Puthuppally, CPI(M) Rebel Wins Payyannur
In Wayanad, the UDF defeated incumbent CPI(M) minister O.R. Kelu, with Congress candidate Usha Vijayan winning by 10,543 votes. The Congress also secured a massive victory in Puthuppally, where Chandy Oommen garnered 84,031 votes against CPI(M) rival K.M. Radhakrishnan. Meanwhile, CPI(M) rebel V. Kunhikrishnan broke his party's stronghold by winning the Payyannur seat with 76,640 votes, defeating incumbent T.I. Madhusoodanan.
