The Kelp restaking platform was hit by a major exploit, with CoinTelegraph reporting $293 million drained while CoinDesk puts the figure at $292 million. Blockchain security firm Cyvers described the attack as causing a 'cross-protocol contagion' affecting at least nine crypto protocols. CoinDesk additionally notes that wrapped ether became stranded across 20 chains as a result of the breach, marking it as 2026's largest crypto exploit to date.
