Kelp DAO Hack Triggers $13B DeFi Wipeout; Lazarus Group Blamed
A hack of Kelp DAO drained approximately $290–$293M (sources differ slightly on the figure) and triggered a broader DeFi collapse exceeding $13 billion in two days. Aave's TVL dropped $8B and its token fell nearly 20% to $89.5 as users fled the lending protocol. LayerZero attributed the exploit to North Korea's Lazarus Group and blamed Kelp's own configuration for enabling the attack.
