Iran blames UAE’s OPEC exit on retaliation, ministry says
Iran’s foreign ministry claimed the United Arab Emirates left OPEC as a retaliatory move against regional countries. Spokesman Esmail Baghaei said the UAE has taken “destructive steps” over the past two months, including cooperation with the United States and Israel amid the conflict with Iran. The statement was released by TASS on May 4.
