Hong Kong Woman Loses HK$4.9 Million in Online Investment Scam
A Hong Kong woman was defrauded of nearly HK$4.9 million (US$625,800) over three months after being lured by bogus investment experts through a social media post promising high-return stock investments. She was instructed to download an app via a messaging service and made over 40 transactions between January and April before realising she had been scammed.
