Hong Kong to Replace Emergency Fax System Between Police and Fire Services
Hong Kong's Security Secretary Chris Tang pledged to replace the outdated fax-based emergency communication system between police and firefighters with a digital alternative, and to expand call centre capacity. The commitment follows an inquiry into a fatal Tai Po fire that exposed a bottleneck causing residents to wait up to 15 minutes for call referrals.
