French President Emmanuel Macron announced Saturday that Chief Sergeant Florian Montorio of the 17th Parachute Engineer Regiment was killed in an attack on a UN peacekeeping (UNIFIL) position in southern Lebanon, attributing the attack to Hezbollah. Three other French soldiers were wounded in the incident, and Macron demanded that Lebanese authorities immediately arrest those responsible.
