Colonel General Alexander Chaiko appointed commander of Russia’s Aerospace Forces
Russian state news agency RBC reported, and pro‑war Telegram blogger Fighterbomber echoed, that Colonel General Alexander Chaiko has been named commander‑in‑chief of the Aerospace Forces. Chaiko, who previously served on the General Staff, led Russia’s military grouping in Syria (2019‑2021) and headed the Eastern Military District. He is one of the officers sanctioned by the West for his alleged role in the Bucha killings.
