China develops world-first high-voltage synchronous condenser to stabilise renewable energy grids
China's Dongfang Electric Machinery has successfully tested a 35-kilovolt direct-connection rotating synchronous condenser, marking a world first in reviving the century-old grid stabilisation technology for modern renewable energy infrastructure. The development was reported by state-run China Electric Power News on April 10.
