Australia secures emergency Indonesian fertiliser deal to protect winter crops

Australia has arranged to import 250,000 tonnes of urea fertiliser from Indonesia to avert a shortage threatening food production. The deal comes as supply from the Middle East, a major urea producer, has been disrupted by the war on Iran, driving up prices for the nitrogen-based product critical to crop growth.
